Diffuse reflection sensors with background suppression operate based on the red light goniometer principle and are suitable for detecting objects against any background. The sensor's operating distance remains constant regardless of the object's color, shape, or surface. They can detect even the smallest height differences, for example, reliably distinguishing between different parts. The IO-Link interface allows for configuring the diffuse reflection sensor (PNP/NPN, normally closed/normally open contact, operating distance) and outputting the switching state and distance value.
